This explains what Snap In collects when you host an event or add photos as a guest, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do. It is written to be read; if anything is unclear, email privacy@getsnapin.com.
Guests
- Photos and videos you add go to the event's album. The host can see them, and other guests can if the host allows it. We remove location and camera details from every copy we show; the host can download your original file.
- Your account: you sign in with Apple, Google or your email before adding photos, so they stay yours to find, download or delete later. We keep your email address (or the private relay address Apple gives us) and the name you share. Looking at an album doesn't need an account.
- A first name, if you give one, is shown next to your photos.
- A random token on your phone lets you delete your own photos later. We keep a salted hash of your IP address and browser for abuse handling only.
- Approximate location (city and country, never your exact IP address) is read from Cloudflare's network for every sign-in, for security and to understand where the app is used.
- Selfies for "Find my photos" are used once to search and then discarded. We never store them. The host must turn this on, it is off for children's events, and you are asked to agree each time.
Hosts
- Your email (if you sign in with one), your events and their settings.
- Purchases, handled by the App Store or Google Play; we never see card details.
- Your phone's push token, if you allow notifications.
- The approximate city and country an event was created from, read from Cloudflare's network — never the exact IP address.
How long we keep it
An album is kept for its plan's period (30 days on Free, 12 months with the Event Pass, 60 days after a Family subscription ends, the period of an earlier plan it was bought on, or longer if extended), then every photo, video, face record and guest record is deleted. Hosts can delete an album at any time, and deleting an account deletes all of its albums.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare (storage and delivery of photos)
- Amazon Web Services (safety checks on uploads; face search when the host turns it on)
- Resend (email)
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google (purchases)
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion. Guests can delete their own photos from "My photos" at any time, or use the deletion request form. We answer within 30 days.
